Hey Everybody!
If you are interested in joining our team, the Whiplash Mixer is the official kick-off party where you will get to see familiar faces, rekindle friendships, past flames, or meet entirely new people! This is a great way to get to know the people you’ll be sitting in close quarters while grunting and sweating (intimacy at its finest).
Before you register for the mixer, below are some details for the event!
POTLUCK
This is a Potluck event so please bring something! There will be non-alcoholic drinks already that I will provide. If possible, indicate what kind of dish you’ll be bringing in your response.
SEASON PREVIEW
Just so everyone can come prepared and to check if they can commit, here is what team management has decided on for the season:
Pool Practices
Starting Tuesday, April 17 for four weeks.
Water Practices
Twice a week (Tuesday and Saturday) starting on Tuesday, May 15. Each water practice will be accompanied with 1 hr land practice. Total water practices will be approximately 29.
Regattas
Montreal International Dragon Boat Festival – July 21/22
Oakville Charity Dragon Boat Festival – Aug 12
GWN Challenge – Setp 8/9
Practice Location
There is still debate going on whether we want to keep practices at Sunnyside or move them to Balmy Beach (Ash Bridges). We will be conducting a vote at the mixer to decide a preferred location.
Uniforms
We will have sample sizing at the event so you can find out what your size is approximate (the tighter the better!)

If you’re serious about joining, please bring either:
a) $100 deposit
b) $360 for full season (exact number still tbd but it will be in this range)
As I said before, you can bring cash or a cheque payable to Wendy Tay.
It is vital that you bring money as we need to put down money for registration ASAP.
